Imagine what a challenge it would be to do the simplest things if you lost your hand in an accident. This story really helped me understand the difficulties anyone would have to face in a situation like that. Maud Hart Risktakers?

December 17, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

posterdivonecropHi again fourth and fifth grade students,

It sure looks as if there are a lot of you who are really getting into the Maud Hart Lovelace books this year! That’s fantastic!
Here are a few questions for you to comment on.
Choose one of the books you have read so far and decide if any of the characters in that book were risktakers.
For instance, in How to Steal a Dog, the main character, Georgina, makes a decision to steal a dog to get the reward money from the dog’s owner.
What were the negative consequences of her action?
Were there any positive consequences ?

  1. Which characters are the risk takers in the books you’ve reading?
  2. What risks did they take?
  3. Were there NEGATIVE or POSITIVE consequences to their actions?
